The Turfgrass Growers Association has today issued a press release to highlight the significant challenges facing UK turf growers as a result of drought, extreme weather and rising production costs.

Producing quality turf is a long-term process requiring months of careful management. Prolonged dry weather can damage crops, delay maturity, reduce yields and require extensive recovery work before affected turf can return to a saleable condition. This means the effects of a difficult growing season can continue long after rainfall returns.
Production decisions made now could also influence turf availability many months ahead, particularly where customers require significant quantities or are working to fixed timescales.
