Lawn Sand has been the standard control of moss in grass for years. It is a safe and easy product to use, and is also very cost effective. It can be used at any time from Feb-Nov providing it is free from frost and drought. It is also widely used to harden off grass against disease and greens up grass for a quick fix.
The iron sulphate can also help to reduce the pH level of the soil which can reduce the amount of worm casts due to the grass species it encourages. It is a mix of part sulphate of iron and part sulphate of ammonia, mixed in with dry sand.
